I really liked it! I liked the mystery of finding out secrets in your family, my only real issue was the ending and the plot twist. To me, it kinda felt like it came out of nowhere and I really didn’t like the betrayal because that also came out of nowhere. I love surprise plot twist but this was too surprising in my opinion, there was nothing alluding to it at all . There aren’t enough words for how captivatingly magically powerful this book is! As a young black girl (I’m non binary now, but still identify my younger self as a girl), I could never imagine reading something like this ever! All the magic and nature and myths were reserved for white people in all the books I read.
