I found the prose irritating both for its dullness and its lack of understanding of females. Between the cold and distasteful (and nearly constant) descriptions of women's bodies and the long descriptive passages of nothing happening, not to mention the maunderings of the main character who is unable to perform any actions, I gave up on this book about 200 pages in.
