I loved this book! It taught me so much about what children experienced during Operation Pied Piper and the bond between two sisters that share an imaginary woodland to escape the war that is going on during that time. I was drawn into their magical land and lives as I read this book. I thought the author did a great job researching the history of the evacuated children during this time. Its a beautifully well written story.
I love a book that can give you a glimpse of history and a new story all at once. I learned a few new things and enjoyed this book along the way. It did take a little while for me to get into it but once I did, I couldn’t put it down.
