This was such an engaging book! I enjoyed previous Laurain books and this one did not disappoint either. Laurain's first character ends up (or steals!) a hat from the President of France. Having this hat endows the person with a power to change their life. The hat, a character in its own right, doesn't stay long with one master, but traipses around France.
