The Alchemist, 25th Anniversary: A Fable About Following Your Dream

Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined. Santiago's journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams.

… 1st book I’ve read this year. I read 50 pages after class yesterday morning. I read the remaining 118 pages from 7-11 this morning outside sitting on the floor having coffee while feeling our side of the Earth wake up. This book is so short but it took me sooo long to read! Just so so difficult to really get into it. There we’re a few chapters here and there that caught my attention, but this was lost quickly by the following chapter. There is a repetitiveness to this book that I found myself rolling my eyes at frequently. The message behind the fable is sweet, but it wasn’t for me.
