I loved this book! It is beautifully written; full of suspense and mystery yet gentle in its unfolding. I liked Meissner's unique, unpredictable story set during WWII of a talented young girl with dreams and aspirations interrupted by the war and how her choices not only affected her but forever altered the lives of those she loved. This was my first Susan Meissner book, and I enjoyed this WWII Era story. It was easy to read and get caught up in the story, which I felt was told well...but I still felt like something else was missing. I just can't define what that something was/is.

I need to read more by this author...
