Not my favorite Austen novel for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s a rough start and takes awhile to get to the plot. I appreciate character descriptions, but I need a little more dialogue to keep my interest. Secondly, I enjoy Anne as a heroine, but there are no other characters that I particularly enjoy. You can't beat Austen for a stylish piece. In this Ann is weighing her potential for being an old maid with her service to family. Many potential alliances are made and remade. Nobody ever says what they mean. Inferences are broadly conceived at every turn. And everyone is so well spoken. Fun listen for a long drive.
I was never impressed or a followers of the Dragon's Den (or Shark Tank for the US folks) but Arlene Dickinson impressed me. I was so happy this book was suggested to me.
