This lower rating shouldn't be taken as a reflection on this series (because it is brilliant) this story just clicked less for me. I'm not super into scifi so the shorter books were nicer little snapshots for me than this longer story. I think murderbot as a character is easily in my top 5 favorite fictional characters ever.
It's like the other books but longer.
Thinking on this a bit longer I think what's got me down on these books as i get deeper in the series is the lack of movement in the overarching plot isn't moving fast enough. I feel like I'm enduring a very formulaic story to get small bits of the real plot. I was invested in the character and deeper invested in the duo after the second book. But it feels like nothing great has been done since the second book...read more
