This story was an eye opening view into the life of immigrants to USA and England. A pair of Nigerian teens are the main protagonists here. Ifemelu and Obinze are in college in Nigeria when the colleges close down due to unrest in the country. Ifemelu leaves for the USA after getting accepted to a college there.
