Shirley Jackson is a gem. The Lottery was my first introduction to her and that fully creeped me out so I decided to try We Have Always Lived in the Castle. And we're creeped out again!

What a perfectly creepy story for Fall reading. It held my attention to the end, but I kept waiting for a twist or a big reveal of some sort such as discovering the girls were ghosts, but it didn't come and the ending fell a little flat for me. Someone, please, tell me what I missed!
Old fashioned spooky, I love the dialect used. Not the direction it thought it was going in but I thought it rounded out well.
