This book was a complete disappointment. In my opinion it was horrible. I'm battling with whether or not I even want to watch the show. It's a slow burn at first, and then things just don't progress.
This book is absolutely terrible. It starts off good, and interesting. Then starts to get a little strange. The random flashbacks are confusing, but the current-day story seems good, so you keep reading. Then it just gets weird. Bad. Horrible! Oh my word, what a waste of time. Save yourself. Skip it.
This book was not what I expected. What I thought would be a mean girl drama, was more about dismantling a system - but still not the one you would assume. I thought this was a complex and surprising perspective on some of the current racial issues. I can't empathize with the protagonist, but I can sympathize with some of her feelings. The good and the bad, especially when it comes to workplace dynamics
Nope. I struggled to get through this. The suspense kept building and building, and when the twist was revealed I felt like “really?” This was a big swing/miss for me.
