The word that comes to mind with this book is “fine.”
I did enjoy the juxtaposition of the past and present in the different narrators perspectives. It was enjoyable to know the depths of the story and to be privy to the mystery that Caroline (the present day narrator) was trying to unfold.
At its core, this is a book about self discovery and the roles that women choose or are subtlety manipulated in to. Our present day narrator, although a moder...read more

Your traditional fiction novel with a bit of history. I loved the ending for what it included and thought the chapters were at a length to where it was easy to stay interested in. I appreciated it's transition between characters.
