Less a coming-of-age story and more a diary about growing up in poverty. These kind of stories are not my jam and I should probably stop reading them.

I was so enraptured by Walls’ story that I often forgot that I was listening to a memoir of someone’s real life experiences – it was very sobering, and I commend Jeannette Walls for being brave enough to share.
