This was a great afternoon read. It was a beautiful adventure to be invited to share. Arthur Pepper reflects on memory and a life lived while his wife lived in each day and enjoyed her time on earth no matter how mundane.

There were some really touching and endearing parts to this book. I rather enjoyed it, in spite of it being syrupy. I especially liked the way the author handled the friendships that blossomed in the book. All the other relationships fell a little flat for me, but overall it was a fun, quick read.

This book strongly reminded me of the THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMAGE OF HAROLD FRY. Both are odysseys where an older man is searching to find himself or reinvent himself as the case may be.
