I liked this more than I thought I would. The writing is spectacular. The story is interesting. There’s a lot to think deeply about.
I can’t decide on this one. The end of the book was marvelous. I could not have predicted it. However, I felt like Patchett was messing with me as large portions of the book seemed completely unnecessary to propel the plot. Patchett’s descriptive writing did make me feel as though I myself was in the Amazon. Despite the slow pace throughout much of the book, I did find myself wanting to read more.
