Love the several narratives & different perspectives. Reading about the different walks of life made this several books in one, making it multi-faceted.

At first, this book made me SO angry, I had to stop reading it! I was so pissed. But I wasn't sure who I was mad at. The 3 POVs who tell the story are so well crafted-- you feel like you know them, and understand them, and even if you disagree with them-- you get where they are coming from. Did not know Colson Whitehead was co-author. Explains so much. To learn how a life changing incident impacts the characters based on both race and class is quite frankly a revelation! Highly recommend.

I really struggled with this one. I love the writing from multiple perspectives. I see and resonate with the issues of racism. I just hated the unfairness of this situation. A nurse, doing her best for a baby, is accused by skinhead parents. Her life is completely disrupted. It points at how powerless we really are.
