I thought this was a really fun book for middle schoolers. Yes, it has a lot of lessons about being a good person and correcting past mistakes, and also about making and maintaining friends. You hardly notice all the morals it's packed with though because it's just a delight to read. It feels very modern with some of the kids trying to be Youtube stars as well. My kids dream of being Youtube stars all the time.

Overall an amazing book and have read it a few times. You should read it if you like a mystery about a tragic thing.
