I wanted to love this book. This was actually going to be a book I chose for my book club thinking Reese never picks a bad book….this book was just not on caliber for a Reese Book Club book. The writing just really was overdone and the story itself was just so disappointing. I’ve seen what fans of this book had to say and I just don’t get it. I did appreciate that I learned about Cuba which I truly knew nothing about.

It was a really good discussion, as always, and the book scored a 6.8, which ran the gamut from a 10 to a 4. And thank you again to Shelley for all the yummy goodies that could have fed an army. Thanks also to Evelyn who didn't know what she was getting into!
