This was quite a good mystery that actually had two mysteries contained within it. The basic premise is that the author of a mystery novel was murdered and the last chapter of his novel goes missing, but we also get the fictional novel within this novel, so we get caught up in both very different novels. This was every bit as delightful as it was touted. A book within a book, the story follows a publishing house editor as she reads a new manuscript from a famous author... and the last chapter is missing. And then the author is killed. Lots of nods to Agatha Christie and word play in general. This is a book lover's book! The audio was fun. Double-Trouble!
Two intriguing, entertaining stories teaming with intertwining characters and plots!


I listened to the audiobook, pleasingly performed by Allan Corduner and Samantha Bond. The nearly 16 hour recording absolutely flew by. I found myself listening to it at every free moment. This took me a long time to get into but once I did I ended up really liking it. It’s a mystery within a mystery. It is way to long though. I felt like some things were drug out when they didn’t need to be.
