Easily , now one of my favorite books! I absolutely loved the writing style from past tense to present. I had no idea the book was going the route it was , until it smacked me in the face! I loved the story, I loved the characters & the ending was one that I truly enjoyed. My first book by Mary Kubica and I can say she truly gained a fan! Absolutely phenomenal.
The book was captivating, thrilling and had me engaged for the first half, however the last half of the book took a turn that I felt hurt the storyline and it became a hot tangled mess.
Took forever to get into, I found it easy to pick what characters where what and did what. I wouldn’t read again, the chapters were incredibly long and sometimes hard to follow. I found myself skipping full paragraphs and still following the story.
I started out giving this 3 stars, but I think I'm going to change it to 2.5 after writing this review.
Here are my issues:
1. The premise of the book was interesting, but I agree with what most other reviewers have said that it ultimately required too much of a stretch of imagination, especially with the fact that it seems like every forensic examiner in this city has disappeared.
