Local Woman Missing: A Novel of Domestic Suspense

Easily , now one of my favorite books! I absolutely loved the writing style from past tense to present. I had no idea the book was going the route it was , until it smacked me in the face! I loved the story, I loved the characters & the ending was one that I truly enjoyed. My first book by Mary Kubica and I can say she truly gained a fan! Absolutely phenomenal.

The book was captivating, thrilling and had me engaged for the first half, however the last half of the book took a turn that I felt hurt the storyline and it became a hot tangled mess.

Took forever to get into, I found it easy to pick what characters where what and did what. I wouldn’t read again, the chapters were incredibly long and sometimes hard to follow. I found myself skipping full paragraphs and still following the story.

I started out giving this 3 stars, but I think I'm going to change it to 2.5 after writing this review.

Here are my issues:

The premise of the book was interesting, but I agree with what most other reviewers have said that it ultimately required too much of a stretch of imagination, especially with the fact that it seems like every forensic examiner in this city has disappeared. Did not expect the plot twist at all! Draws you in from the very beginning.
