FINALLY finished it.
This was not up my alley at all. I've surprised myself when I read Jane Austen - surprised as in I really enjoyed her works. The book club I'm in was reading Little Women and I thought it would be along the same lines. Nope. I did not enjoy this at all.

This is a re-read. I absolutely love this story and there are many reasons why, each time I read this at different times/age during my life I see how my view points change with each time. As a young girl I was such a Jo and Laurie fan, however the older I get there are moments throughout this book that I tend to lean more of an Amy and Laurie fan.

I love this story, but I didn't always. I seem to recall reading it for the first time around 10 or 11 years of age and coming up a particular scene I didn't like...when Jo tells Laurie she can't marry him. Her refusal to accept his proposal seemed like a mistake to me when I first read it, and so I flung the book across the room and didn't touch it again for a few days. After having watched the film, I was surprised how much was not only missed, but also changed. This is a lovely book of four sisters coming of age.
