This intense novel brings us a ride of time travel that unmasks the horrors of slavery. Dana is a 20 something writer in 1976 CA. She is black and her husband is white. When they buy their first house, she starts traveling to a MD plantation in 1819, to save the life of an ancestor, a young white boy. It gets more complicated from there c and does not shy away from the reality of plantation life in 1819. Eye opening. Fresh perspective.
