Suzanne Schuckel Heath recommended another book by this author, but I liked the sound of this one more and got it from the library instead, and am so glad I did. This Victorian thriller with thieves, con artists, madhouses, missing mothers, pornographic literature, and lady-on-lady love was so good in every way.
