Beautifully written, sometimes confusing chronologically, but overall a really good book. I had a tough time starting the book, but, once I got into the stories of Marie-Laure and Werner, I couldn’t stop reading. Imagining what it would feel like to be blind in the time of war, was really interesting and made the main character’s adventures seem even more of a struggle and also made me feel so lucky for my health and that of my family.

Haunting novel about two young people during WW2 in France. A little verbose, long read with chapters that shuffle characters and timeframes. My ADD brain found the lacking chronological timeline challenging (maddening!) but it is a beautifully written book. Sad, but satisfying read.

I learned so much about history of WW2 while deeply resonating with and caring about the characters. The way the story weaves and interconnects is masterful and the short chapters feels like you are moving swiftly through a world, catching a glimpse and yearning for more. Truly a page turner. Excellent read.

I’ve always been more particular about the way an author writes and this is by far in my top 5. Set during WWll, this novel travels far in the mind and brings joy and sorrow. I recommend listening to Claire de Lune while reading.

A very slow read, expected a lot more after reading raving reviews
