I thoroughly enjoyed this book and is one of the best that I've read. Grumpy old men are my favorites! It held my attention and I even cried in a few places. We need more men like Ove!

We liked this book overall - the journey of Ove and his self-discovery (or discovery by everyone else) about his true character sparked a lot of conversations and comparisons to today vs. when the book was written.

This is by far the very best book I have ever read. I have been reading books on a Kindle since 2011 and listening to audio books on my commute to and from work for about a year. A touching homage to humanity and to the possibility of friendship and faith in a long-lost love. It covers a lot of ground—marriage, love, race, class, division, gentrification. It’s one of those good stories that connects. The original film (in Swedish) is also worth a watch!
