Managing a 10 person club is challenging, but what about an 800 person club! For those running and managing large clubs, you may be interested to know that you can now request to set admin privileges and controls for your club.

The first is letting us know if your club is open to the public. For open to the public clubs we can ensure that club members contact informaiton is not shared, unless they change their personal profile to opt-in. If you'd like this setting, please email anna@bookclubz.com

Admins can also take control! Please send anna@bookclubz.com an email if you area club admin and you would like only club admins in your club to be able to do the following:

  • Creating a meeting
  • Posting an original message thread. (All members can still reply to your message.)
  • Uploading documents
  • Creating an album
  • Uploading photos

These admin privileges are available for all clubs (not just large and open to the public clubs). Write us and let us know which controls you’d like to hand over exclusively to the admin so communication and organization can be streamlined.

Speaking of new customizations...

Every club can now customize the number of email and app notifications they get about upcoming meetings. Some clubs need all the reminders, while others just appreciate the day before ping. We are happy to accommodate your club and your notification preferences. The default setting is for the following notifications to go out automatically. You can request to let us know if you'd like to reduce some of these meeting notifications and reminders:

  • When the meeting is created
  • Two weeks before the meeting
  • One week before the meeting
  • Day before the meeting

Create your profile, start and join a book club, track your reading, and more.

I need all administrative controls turned off for members before I open the club to the public. My club is a public club.

Please help me with administrative controls. I want to be the only person doing administrative duties, especially the job of sending invites.
