- When you buy individual audiobooks, 100% of the sale price will be shared amongst Black-owned Libro.fm partner bookstores.
- For example, if you buy How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi for $28.00 USD, $28.00 will be divided amongst Black-owned Libro.fm partner bookstores.
- There’s no monthly commitment when you purchase audiobooks individually.
- All partner bookstores, authors, and publishers will still receive their normal payment terms. Find more details below in the FAQ.
Start a Libro.fm membership
- When you start a Libro.fm membership, 100% of your payment ($14.99) will be shared amongst Black-owned Libro.fm partner bookstores. You’ll get two audiobook credits for the price of one month of membership!
- You’ll then continue supporting the independent bookstore of your choice on a monthly basis with your membership.
- All partner bookstores, authors, and publishers will still receive their normal payment terms. Find more details below in the FAQ.
Gift individual audiobooks from Libro.fm
- You can gift individual audiobooks to anyone, including internationally, and 100% of your payment on Juneteenth will be shared amongst Black-owned Libro.fm partner bookstores.

Gift Libro.fm memberships
- You can gift 1, 3, 6, and 12-month memberships to anyone, including internationally, and 100% of your payment on Juneteenth will be shared amongst Black-owned Libro.fm partner bookstores.

What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth commemorates African-American emancipation from slavery in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, Union soldiers—led by Major General Gordon Granger—landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

What if the Black-owned bookstore I want to support is not a Libro.fm partner?
We are currently reaching out to all known Black-owned bookstores in the U.S. and Canada to see if they would like to become partners. Becoming a Libro.fm partner bookstore is free, and any Black-owned bookstore that joins as partner before June 29th will receive an equal portion of the sales from 6/19/20. If your bookstore would like to become a partner, have them email bookstores@libro.fm and we’ll take care of the rest.
Will the local bookstore I support with my Libro.fm account still receive money from my purchases on 6/19/20?
Libro.fm will pay the local bookstore connected with your account out-of-pocket in order to ensure that 100% of audiobook sales on Juneteenth go to Black-owned bookstores. If the local bookstore you support is Black-owned, they will earn their standard share of your purchase in addition to their portion of the sales price.
Will authors still receive royalties on purchases made on 6/19/20?
Yes, Libro.fm is still paying publishers for all sales on 6/19/20, so authors will still receive royalties.
If I start a free Libro.fm trial on 6/19/20, will Black-owned bookstores receive money?
No, if you start a free trial on Libro.fm on 6/19/20, there will be no money directed to Black-owned bookstores.
If I use one of my membership credits on an audiobook, will a Black-owned bookstore receive money?
No, this offer only applies to à la carte audiobook purchases and gifts—your credits are included in your monthly membership payment, which is split between Libro.fm and your bookstore of choice.
Does this offer apply to bulk or corporate sales?
